Identify the Drywood Species

Unlike the subterranean species, dry wood termites make their home in the wood structures of your house. This is one of the several differences in their nesting and feeding habits. These termites also tend to be less picky in their destruction. While subterranean varieties will only eat the softest wood, dry wood attackers will feed on just about any part of the wood structures. The latter also has more distinctive excrement that you may notice: their hexagonal pellets, called: "frass," often resemble salt and pepper or fine sand granules. Piles of this dust is a warning sign that indicates you should call us at (530) 677-7923.
